MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The ACVV is extremely grateful for the donations received for its beneficiaries after an article appeared in the Mossel Bay Advertiser about its Winter Hope programme.
Every year the organisation runs a Winter Hope programme in which it collects items for those in need. The ACVV received many donations of clothing, but it still needs children's clothing - for both girls and boys.
Many "bottles of ubuntu" were handed in too.
All donations can be dropped off at the ACVV Mossel Bay office at Aliwal Villa, 116 Montagu Street in the town centre. The office is next to Harry Giddey Park.
Recipe to make bottle of ubuntu:
- Half cup lentils
- Half cup soup mix (dried barley, lentils and split peas which come in a packet)
- A stock cube, unwrapped
- One packet soup
- You can also add some rice and/or pasta to fill up the bottle.
Write cooking instructions on piece of paper and pop in bottle:
Place the bottle contents in a pot with three to six litres of water, bring to the boil, stir well and then simmer for 40 minutes, stirring often.
