MOSSEL BAY NEWS - With the school holidays in full swing, the children of Asla Park set off to a good start this past weekend. There was a festive atmosphere as the children gathered in an open field where they received a wholesome meal, a snack pack and toys to keep them busy during the holidays.
Councillor Julia Siyoko arranged the event, with the help and sponsorship of Myron Bruinders, a local businessman known for his community involvement, as well as Mesay Ermias.
Bruinders donated the toys and Ermias, cooldrinks, snacks and bread.
"I like helping out in the community and giving support where it is needed. I wish I could do so every time," Ermias said.
Councillor Dirk Kotzè, deputy executive mayor of Mossel Bay, also attended the event. "We are very grateful everyone that contributes towards making a difference in our community."
Smiley, happy faces were a good start to the school holidays for these children from Asla Park.
