MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The eViwe Community Centre, a charity in KwaNonqaba, is looking to start a programme to ensure good nutrition for children, from the time they are in the womb.
Head of the centre, Bongani Swartbooi, says he would like support from dieticians, social workers, psychiatrists and psychologists in the process of looking at the child holistically.
He said there could be retired professionals wishing to contribute to a worthy cause.

Retired maths and science teachers are also sought. Bongani said eViwe had one hectare of land, supplied by a farmer. The plan was to work together with Transnet so that equipment was available for the land, to cultivate it.
He said: "We would like to partner with others, to ensure the project is a success. We want to ensure children's brains are developed fully. That's why we want professionals to train parents on what type of food to eat and how to cultivate vegetables."
The eViwe Community Centre is at the KwaNonqaba Business Park at 16 Sithela Street. It serves 142 children. There are eight staff at the centre.
Bongani said: "We use four programmes: a toy library, educare centre, computer centre and afterschool care."
He said the next programme would be the nutrition scheme he visualised. He appealed to individuals and also companies to become involved.
Call Bongani (071 003 0101) if you are able to help.
