GEORGE NEWS & VIDEO - Colleagues of the late Sister Stephanie Kiewiet (50) formed a guard of honour in the parking area of the George Hospital this morning when the hearse carrying her body passed by on its way to the George Cemetery where she was laid to rest.
Kiewiet (50) passed away on Sunday 16 August.
She is the first healthcare worker of the George Hospital and in the Garden Route district to have died of Covid-19.
A guard of honour was also held at the entrance to the cemetery.
Kiewiet was known as a compassionate and dedicated staff member who touched the lives of many patients and colleagues.
She would have celebrated her 51st birthday on 10 September.
