GARDEN ROUTE NEWS AND VIDEO - After a humble start in 2006 with 180 shoeboxes, the Santa Shoebox project has grown to making over 650 000 children smile last year.
Many companies involve their staff members and pledge Santa Shoeboxes as part of their corporate social investment programmes.
Gift boxes with a toothbrush, toothpaste, facecloth, soap, a toy, clothing, school supplies and sweets are provided to brighten underprivileged children's Christmas experience.
All businesses and individuals in Mossel Bay, George and Oudtshoorn are invited to join in to warm children's hearts this Christmas.
People can sponsor shoeboxes through the website, santashoebox.org.za, where they can select a child as recipient, choose 8 items to fill the box, and add a personal message that will be printed onto the gift card and distributed to the selected child.
Alternatively, assembled shoeboxes or any unused items to fill boxes, or even empty shoe boxes can be dropped off in George at On Tap, 5 Market Street or at Creative Touch, no 4, 2nd Avenue.
In Mossel Bay, donations can be dropped off at On Tap, Gericke Street, Voorbaai.
