HESSEQUA NEWS - The Bitouville, Gouritsmond wildfire is not under control yet. The head of the wildfire continues to spread west.
It has split into two flanks and is currently burning on the Wolwefontein farm, while also spreading towards the Reins Nature Reserve.
Firefighters on the ground are actively busy trying to extinguish the wildfire where accessible. They are also trying their utmost best to safeguard structures. Aerial resources contained the fire line closest to structures along the eastern flank.
Roleplayers include GRDM Fire Services, Hessequa Municipality, Working-on-Fire and the Gourits Neighbourhood watch.
