GARDEN ROUTE DISTRICT NEWS - It's spring and the flowers at Gourikwa Reserve, just outside Mossel Bay, are blooming and well worth seeing.
From the yellow to dark orange pins of the pincushion protea to the bright yellow daisy of the bush-tick berry/bietou, to the other different indigenous plant species which burst into magnificent colours.
The fynbos biome is a vegetation type dominated by shrubs and the features of many species includes fine leaves.
