MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Cape Lifesaving Championships took place in absolutely perfect weather conditions at Santos Beach on Saturday, 3 February.
The reigning world champion in flags and sprints, Ryle de Morny, who is from False Bay Surf Lifesaving Club took part in the champs.
De Morny is known as the "fastest man on sand" in South Africa and for most of the past decade he has been the fastest man on sand in the world.
De Morny said Mossel Bay always produced the best weather for lifesaving events.

The Cape Champs are seen as a warm-up friendly for the National Championships to take place in Port Elizabeth from 1 to 4 April.
The event was a chance for competitors to test their fitness levels and get their minds geared for more serious events in the year, he said.

De Morny scooped his two latest accolades at the World Lifesaving Championships held in the Netherlands in 2016.
