MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Literacy Hour programme, run by the Heart To Heart non-profit organisation, is thriving.
Heart To Heart wants to keep the passion for reading alive, so it is doing a book drive for its Literacy Chapter at Imekhaya Primary school, where it is preparing Grade 3 learners for their next education phase.
The need for English children's story books is great, as some books are used during the Literacy Hour sessions and others for learners to take home.
This specific book drive is for collecting "take home" books, which is a great way of helping children to nurture their love for books and to improve their reading skills at home, according to Heart To Heart.
The children's books donated can be either new or old, but in good condition. You are welcome to drop off the books at the Heart To Heart office at New Life Church, 68 Apiesdoring Street, Heiderand, during weekdays from 09:00 to 16:00 or on Sunday mornings.
If you would like more information on how else to get involved, contact Heart To Heart (044 693 0828 or admin@heart2heart.org.za).
