MOSSEL BAY NEWS - When the poll to test homeowners' opinions regarding a proposed alternative access route for Dana Bay closed at 21:00 on Wednesday, July 24, a preliminary total of 1 648 choices were captured.
The vast majority of homeowners - 1 264 - indicated their support for Option A: the extension of Flora Road to a junction with the N2 at the Herbertsdale intersection.
Option B - the extension of Flora Road to join Apiesdoring Street in Heiderand - had the support of 384 homeowners.
The results of this poll, as well as the formal report on the viability of the two alternative routes which was compiled by experts upon instruction from the municipality, will ultimately serve before the municipal council for a final decision that will be in the best interest of all taxpayers.
The municipality thanks all homeowners who participated in the poll, which formed part of the municipal public participation process.
