It is important to understand what is happening at the Dias Festival taking place in Mossel Bay right now.
Here the festival slogan; "Where cultures meet" allows the various cultures, both local and that of participating countries such as Indonesia, India, China, France, Germany, Madagascar and Portugal, to meet and share.
"Cultures meet and relationships are being fixed. This is happening in the small town of Mossel Bay while the clash of cultures in so many other centres of the world is leading to clashes and war," said the MEC of Finance in the Western Cape Provincial Parliament, Minister Ivan Meyer at the official welcoming of all the various delegates.
Mossel Bay Executive Mayor, Alderlady Marie Ferreira welcomed all the representatives of the various countries and thanked them for their participation.
"We have made certain and dedicated progress in involving more and more different cultures at this very popular festival that is also intended to stimulate our local economy," Alderlady Ferreira said.
"Mossel Bay is a small town, but through their efforts with events such as the dias Festival has a big influence in the global village," Minister Meyer added.
