MOSSEL BAY NEWS - An elderly couple travelling on the R102 at around 11:15 today, was fortunate not to sustain any serious injuries after their sports utility vehicle, a Kia Sportage collided with a fully loaded truck.
According to the Da Gamaskop police, the couple was heading towards Mossel Bay from Little Brak River, when the driver of the vehicle made a U-turn without seeing an oncoming truck.
The Transand truck, carrying a load of sand, attempted to avoid the collision and in the process hit the SUV causing it to slide into a ditch beside the road.
The swerving action caused the truck to overturn, losing its load on the R102.
Members of the Da Gamaskop police were at the scene following the incident.
