MOSSEL BAY NEWS - If you are still contemplating what to do during the long weekend this month, here's something to help you make up our mind.
On Saturday, 10 August the Soul Festival is the place to be for a family fun day to warm up your winter.
"This festival is easy on your pocket, but there will be much fun. It's a deal not to be missed," says Aneli Gerber from Mossel Bay Tourism, host of the festival.
The festival grounds, offering free entrance and participation in all activities, is on Market Street.
Highlights of the day will include a festival of wine, live entertainment and a comedy lunch hour. Stalls will offer arts, crafts and handmade goods, with buskers to keep the vibe going.
If none of this grabs your attention, the kids' carnival certainly will. Bring junior for the Klikkerland performance, to meet a superhero or pose for a selfie with a princess. Find a treasure in the lucky draw or let the little ones enjoy having their faces painted or playing in the inflatables section.
For the young ones who love performing, there is an open mic event and a dance-off competition or if your youngster is a budding artist, let him take part in the art competition.
For the adventurous, there are Airsoft games which have their roots in military simulation. Worried about your toddler? Fear not, as there will be a dedicated area for pre-schoolers and toddlers.
The festival runs from 10:00 to 17:00. For more information, visit www.soulfestival.co.za
The Soul Festival committee has been putting together a fun-filled family programme for 10 August.
