Four charities were chosen as beneficiaries: Child Welfare, Helpende Hand (Solidariteit), Project Blessing which assists animals in need in Sonskynvallei and the Kids for Kids charity of Bahia Bleu Restaurant.
The finalists in the Charity Champion pageant received a list of these charities' needs, for example, diapers for adults, stationery, bedding and much more.
The finalists worked hard, when one considers that only five people gathered more than R50 000 worth of goods for charity.
Crawlers&Crowns owner Karen Gray said: "What an awesome morning we spent with Kay-lee Macquena from Child Welfare, who took our Charity Champion pageant title holders out to the places of need in the community.
"The champions enjoyed handing out the goods they collected for the Charity Champion pageant.
"The idea of the pageant is to empower and help the contestants to not only get involved with the different charities in our area, but also to assist them in starting their own charity. This is something that anyone can do.
"Deon Lensing - a Mr South Africa 2022 top 10 finalist always says: 'If you want to see change, be the change. It all starts with you.'"
Gray said: "Well done to our wonderful title holders: Rosie Koch, Herman Spies and Leandri Lamprecht, for making the time to join in on the fun, handing out the wonderful goods they collected. Deon and I are so proud of you." Lensing lives in Mossel Bay and assists Gray with pageants.
