WESTERN CAPE NEWS - Imagine rows and rows of all things bike, fitness and health; a place where cycling enthusiasts can find specials on spares, discounts on awesome kit and info on new cycle safaris; where riders in the Cape Town Cycle Tour can get a medical checkup from the Momentum Wellness stand, a sports massage and … of course … collect their race packs ahead of the Cycle Tour on Sunday, 11 March.
In addition to boosting the economy of Cape Town, the Expo gives some of those charities reliant on the Cycle Tour, a platform from which to spread their message and raise awareness of their projects.
The Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust was formed 20 years ago with the express purpose of raising money for charity.
Every cent, after costs, goes to the Rotary Club of Claremont and the Pedal Power Association and is put towards their community upliftment programmes.
The 28th Cape Town Cycle Tour Expo is the biggest cycling exhibition in Africa. Held at the Cape Town Stadium from Thursday, 8 March to Saturday, 10 March, it offers more than 300 stands showcasing the latest and greatest in cycling gear and paraphernalia.
Whether you’re riding the Cycle Tour or not, if you’re an avid cyclist or a weekend fun-rider you shouldn’t miss this! All Cycle Tour participants will gain a once-off Expo entry with a scan of their RaceTec chip.
General admission tickets for the public are also available at R50 per person.
To donate water to Cape Town, there will be a donation facility at the Cape Town Cycle Tour Expo.
The water drop-off point will be located on the stadium forecourt opposite the entrance to the Expo.
You will be able to drop off your unopened, sealed water containers here during the 3 days of Expo from 8 – 10 March 2018.
These water donations will be put onto trucks and distributed to credible, designated drop-off points as indicated to us by the City of Cape Town.
Further information regarding the donation of water at the Expo will be communicated closer to the time.
