MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The annual Cake Off competition in the Garden Route area has taken place this year despite the restrictions of the lockdown.
Bakers and cake decorators from Mossel Bay, George and Oudtshoorn took part. The bakers had to create their cakes at home and send their photographs to the organiser, Trudi Stander.
Trudi told the Mossel Bay Advertiser she was worried about how the Cake Off would proceed during the lockdown and if it would be a success, but she was delighted with the response and monies received in the competition. Also, the cakes are a delight to the eye.
The main beneficiaries will be the poor, affected by the lockdown. The photographs of the George and Oudtshoorn competitions have been received and Trudi will be receiving the Mossel Bay cake photographs from the Mossel Bay competitors this evening (23 April).
Each town's cakes are auctioned in that particular town.
