MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay artist Riëtte Delport, who signs her artworks, Rut, has an extremely flamboyant style of dress.
She loves bright colours, massive earrings, chunky necklaces and high heels.
Riëtte puts items together that most people think do not match. "When someone says things do not go together, then I know I'm doing the right thing," she says.
One of her friends, an image consultant, often says: "You can't wear those together."
Riëtte's exuberant personality is expressed in her style. She gives big hugs, big smiles and spreads positivity.
The song, I'm H.A.P.P.Y., could be her mantra, but she says he has been through hard times before and tells how she suffered depression when she found herself caught in a false religion a few years back.

Riëtte is proud to say she has lost 46 kilograms. Yes, 46 kilograms.
"Where did you hide them?" one asks. "Many people ask me that," she says. Riëtte has always loved style, but it was a downer for her that she could not wear the clothes she liked, because of her size. Now she is celebrating her new shape.
She and hubby go for date nights together and that is when she gets to dress up and wear her stilettoes.
