GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - A Beekeeping Farmers’ Day will be held in collaboration between the Western Cape Department of Agriculture and Southern Cape Bee Industry Association
This will take place on 5 August in Albertinia. Registration is at 08:30.
The topic that will be discussed is as follows; Canola – benefits and challenges for bees by André de Jager. Management of swarms on Canola - brood box maintenance, splitting and preparation for pollination with Daniel Bridger.
After the tea break Monique-Cheri van der Westhuizen will be talking about cover crops for bee forage and benefits to the producers. Basic hive and apiary management with Mike Allsopp.
There will be open hives to demo hive management and splits on Canola.
