Joy Mostert, who comes from the Netherlands, started off painting plant pots.
Mossel Bay businessman Paolo Mastrogiuseppe spotted the pots and asked her to do the mural.
In the centre of the artwork is a propeller from a DC-3 Dakota, which Mastrogiuseppe used to own.
The artwork incorporating the propeller is at his premises, the Aeronautica Business Lounge, in the Mossel Bay town centre.
Mostert says: "I have always been into drawing. In high school I studied art. Then I went into finances. I stopped choosing with my heart and went with my mind.
"I moved to South Africa and there is more space for creativity here, so I have come back to my passion."
Mostert uses acrylic paints.
Joy met her husband, Hannes Mostert, while travelling in Vietnam and the two came to Mossel Bay to live.
Mastrogiuseppe has an appreciation for art and supports a number of artists in town, buying their artworks. He is also a supporter of the municipal plan that Mossel Bay becomes a motorsport Mecca.
