MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Have you ever wondered where we come from and how we have evolved here in Mossel Bay during the centuries?
Someone who has done research on the topic is Dr Peter Nilssen, who was also instrumental in the research on the Pinnacle Point caves.
Dr Nilssen is a professional archaeologist with an interest in Stone Age or hunter gatherer archaeology.
He co-founded the Mossel Bay Archaeology Project (MAP), which has made globally significant discoveries concerning the origins of modern humans and is currently one of the best funded projects worldwide.
He is actively involved in outreach, education and tourism-related projects, aimed at sharing the story of our species' origins and where we may be headed in the future.
Attend this interesting talk by Dr Nilssen during the Friends of the Dias Museum annual general meeting on Tuesday, 18 April, at 18:00. RSVP by Monday, 17 April, to Denise (084 444 5873) or Brigitte (044 691 1032) for catering purposes.
