MOSSEL BAY NEWS & VIDEO - A motorcade, showing unity against gender-based violence, departed today at 09:00, escorted by the Traffic Department, for the Indoor Sports Centre in Extension 23.

Today, 19 November, is International Men’s Day. The demonstration formed part of the 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence programme of the Mossel Bay Municipality.

Local civil groups and staff from several government departments joined the motorcade to demonstrate unity against violence against women and children.

The motorcade took a long route through town and at the Indoor Sports Centre, a programme and signing of the pledge against violence followed.

"Despite the Covid-19 epidemic, we can be the voice for the voiceless against gender-based violence," it was stated.
