MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay Municipality has just launched an additional telephone number for residents to report service delivery issues, especially during load shedding.
With a further series of load shedding announced, another number - 044 050 8000 (with voice over IP functionality) - has been launched that will function despite load shedding and will ensure residents can still report their problems to the municipality.
In the recent past, the number widely used for the call centre, 044 606 5000, sometimes failed during load shedding.
Residents are asked to use the 044 050 8000 number in case of an emergency, only when the 044 606 5000 number does not work.
Note: it may sometimes appear as if the 044 606 5000 number is not being answered, especially when calls remain unanswered for some time. Incoming calls are, however, automatically queued to be answered as soon as the operator becomes available.
Especially when the call centre experiences high call volumes, it may take somewhat longer for incoming calls to be answered. The 044 050 8000 number can therefore not bypass the queue.
Therefore, residents are reminded that problems of a less urgent nature may be submitted via SMS to 44802 (at normal rates) and/or by email to admin@mosselbay.gov.za.
Residents will receive a reference number on any of these channels, should any follow-up queries or communication be necessary.
Photographs or documents can be attached to the email and may help to speed up problem solving.
