GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Police members in a joint effort earlier today arrested a 28-year-old man from George in connection with a hijacking.
According to Sgt Kapp, spokesperson of the KwaNonqaba Police, they were alerted of a vehicle, a silver Mercedes sedan hijacked earlier today in George heading towards Mossel Bay.
Two police members of KwaNonqaba Police’s A Shift, Constables Kumkani and Boesak spotted the vehicle in KwaNonqaba and proceeded to pursue it.

Police members from Da Gamaskop, Mossel Bay, Seaborder, Dog as well as the Public Order Policing units joined the pursuit. During the car chase the Mercedes collided with a bakkie and lead to the arrest of a male suspect.
“We are very proud of our members’ reaction in apprehending the suspect,” said Sgt Kapp.
