MOSSEL BAY NEWS AND VIDEO - A group of Mossel Bay actors had the superb experience of being coached by an award-winning actress on Saturday, 22 August.
The part-time actors - from children through to middle aged people - are the cast of a film being shot in Mossel Bay.
Veteran documentary maker and filmmaker Dexter Brinkhuis, whose company is Dynasty Media, is championing the project. Brinkhuis is a Mossel Bay resident.
Some of the shooting began this week in town.
The film, titled Mossel Bay - Its story, deals with the history of Mossel Bay and the current state of the town and will cover "the good, the bad and the ugly". It will highlight social ills, but also the positive aspects of Mossel Bay.

Actress Crystal-Donna Roberts, of 7de Laan, Pasella and Getroud met Rugby fame, blew the actors away with her "big personality" and positive energy on Saturday.
"Dynamite comes in small packages" epitomises her.
Energetic activities
She immediately launched into warm-up exercises with the actors. It was a perfect ice breaker as they had to jump around, jiggle their limbs and do a variety of energetic activities.
"When you're acting, you have to be kind to yourself and be kind to others," Roberts advised the actors.

She won a SAFTA for Best Actress in a Feature Film in 2018 for her title role in the film, Krotoa. Roberts played the drug addict, Janine, in the TV soapie 7de Laan, and was a presenter on the lifestyle programme, Pasella.
She starred in the hugely popular Getroud Met Rugby in seasons 3 and 4.
Feedback from the actors involved in the workshop was that she was "fantastic" and they love her. Auditions for the film were held earlier this year and actors from all walks of life, races, and ages, were chosen for the cast. Calls for auditions were widely publicised online and also in the Mossel Bay Advertiser. Afrikaans, English and isiXhosa will be spoken in the film.
The top team for the film: project director Dexter Brinkhuis and film crew members Valerie Combrinck and Danie Petersen.
