MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Every August we commemorate Women's Month, when we celebrate an important figure we should look up to: the female figure.
Women grant us life and they instil in us morals and manners that carry us through our lifetime.
They make sacrifices to ensure a life for others.
Yet, despite the importance of their actions, women are frequently victimised and are at constant risk. They are vulnerable.
Rotaract Mossel Bay, a Rotary Club partner, calls on the residents of Mossel Bay to support its project in August.
Creating Effective Families (CEF) is a care centre for at-risk women and children.
Many of those they care for come to the centre on an emergency basis, having little time to take with them their personal belongings. Rotaract Mossel Bay is, therefore, holding a drive to collect the following items:
• Moisturiser
• Toothpaste, toothbrushes
• Roll-ons, deodorants
• Facecloths
• Sanitary pads and feminine hygiene products
• Donations of clothing (for women and children), as well as toys, are also welcomed.
Donations can be dropped off with Bianca at Herbie Oosthuizen & Associates (71 Montagu Street, Mossel Bay) or with Delmaine (ATKV Hartenbos reception).
