SANBS calls on new, regular and lapsed donors
The blood service is asking donors who are due to donate, people who have never donated before and eligible lapsed donors to come forward.
O and B blood donors urged to make a difference
SANBS is particularly encouraging eligible O and B blood group donors to donate, while emphasising that all blood groups are needed to maintain the national supply.
One donation can help save up to three lives
With blood unable to be manufactured and dependent entirely on donors, SANBS says a single donation takes about 30 minutes and can save up to three lives.
The need for blood cannot wait
SANBS is urging eligible South Africans to visit a donor centre or blood drive and help strengthen the national blood supply.
