BUSINESS NEWS - What used to be called the Mossel Bay Arts and Craft Centre in Market Street, is now a beautifully renovated showpiece of local talent, and has been renamed The Town's House.
Built in 1879, it housed the municipal offices, the council chamber and an office for the market master.
For decades, farmers brought their produce to be sold to passing ships and townsfolk. The keystones above the windows on the facade of the building reflect the produce of the district at the time of construction and include ostrich, sheep, oxen and grapes.
Today this valuable heritage building, next to Mossel Bay Tourism, houses a selection of upmarket, locally produced art, crafts, jewellery, souvenirs, gifts, décor and lifestyle items unique to Mossel Bay.

Conveniently located in the town centre, The Town's House is open from 09:00 to 17:00 on weekdays and on Saturdays, from 09:00 to 14:00.
