This year the conference was held in Windhoek, Namibia, and among the many clubs represented countrywide, the areas of George and Oudtshoorn were represented by the Eden and Noll Lions Clubs.
This is an important year for local Lions, as Eden Lions' own Carl van Blerk is the district governor elect for district D (Swellendam to Zastron) for 2014/2015.
Among his official duties, DGE Carl will be visiting clubs throughout the district to support and motivate individual clubs and members to deliver efficient and ongoing support to their communities.
Lion Carl will be travelling to Toronto in July with his wife, Debby, to be formally inducted as Lions district governor, at a gathering of more than 30 000 Lions from across the world.
