BUSINESS NEWS - The Heiderand SPAR Express store has won an award for the best SPAR Express store in the Western Cape.

Every year SPAR holds a competition for its stores, to reward excellence.

The stores are nominated in their particular category: SUPERSPAR, SPAR store, KWIKSPAR and SPAR Express.

There are various criteria the stores must meet.

Heiderand SPAR Express manager Mano Kokinos says: "We came out tops in our category in the Western Cape, where there are 16 SPAR Express stores.

The majority of stores are based in and around Cape Town, with two stores in Worcester and our store in Mossel Bay.

"I am tremendously proud that our store won the award of Store of the Year."

When asked his secret of success, Mano says: "It's all about our staff and making them all feel part of the business. We have a team of incredible people, who work extremely hard. We are totally invested in our customers and community and value their opinion and needs.

Best service

"We strive to give the best service and give them a reason to keep coming back.

"We could put in as much time and effort possible, but if we did not focus on the client and the best level of service, our hard work would be in vain. It's the team effort that makes the difference. We thank our customers for their loyal and ongoing support."
