BUSINESS NEWS - You may think that D Studio at 82 Montagu Street is the new kid on the block, but this enterprise in advanced skin and hair aesthetics has been in the making for years.

The brainchild of Dinette Wessels, a medical representative, seasoned permanent make-up artist, entrepreneur, mother, wife and a true lady, D Studio is a breath of fresh air in beauty salons – all at one address.

Skincare therapists, Tanya Koekemoer and Nadia Augustuyn, hold internationally recognised qualifications. At D Studio, the SIX Sensational and pHformula skincare ranges were carefully selected. pHformula, Dinette explains, is a pharmaceutical range. This no-nonsense "straight to the point" range is particularly result driven, offering a noticeable difference with immediate effect.

SIX is all botanical and natural. It is a pleasure to all the senses, offering an unforgettable pamper when clients experience the SIX Sensational signature skincare treatment, exclusively to D Studio. This includes a top to toe pampering session, including hair care, that will see clients leaving D Studio feeling like a new person.

"We chose these two ranges, one local and the other imported, to cater for two opposites in the market – the clients that seek a fragrant, feel-good skincare experience, as opposed to those who prefer a no-smell, results-only experience."

Skincare solutions at D Studio do not end there. "I have added hydra dermabrasion, considered among the latest skincare technology in the industry." Using water during treatment, the turbulence created not only offers deep cleansing exfoliation, but gently forces hydration into the skin, preparing it for greater product absorption. Fruit acids used during exfoliation, focus on cell renewal. At the same time, overall skin texture is improved. "This treatment is suitable as an anti-aging treatment, but also for those struggling with acne."

Offering permanent make-up, Dinette has more than 13 years' experience. Her reputation precedes her and she confesses to being "fanatical" about eyebrows. "I use three techniques – feathered, hybrid and powdered." D Studio also specialises in aesthetic procedures such as fillers and Botox. These procedures are performed by a qualified medical practitioner.

The hair studio is under the baton of none other than uber-experienced Lynn Honiball and her vibrant team of stylists, including her equally well-known daughter, Celeste. Deidre Busa, with 19 years of experience to her name, admired for her professionalism and flair, completes the dynamic trio of hair stylists.

"At D Studio, we are in line with the worldwide trend towards offering the natural, both in skin and hair care. Our ranges are sulphur, paraben and colourant free. Ultimately, we strive to empower women to feel better about themselves. D Studio is all about enhancing natural, external beauty in order to make inner beauty shine."

After losing a child five years ago, Dinette, having gone through a very sorrowful time, sees D Studio, with its logo comprising an infinity sign and leaf, as a God-driven endeavour, meaning new beginnings, a fresh chance and prosperity. Based on this concept, she carefully chose a team of like-minded women to join her quest of making every client have an excellent experience - from the meet-and-greet to leaving D Studio.
