The ATKV Langsous branch, Mossel Bay, is going the extra mile to assist in improving literacy and reading skills among Grade 1 learners in Mossel Bay. Chairperson of the branch, Claire du Plessis, has engaged with parents of Grade 1s in Erika, Diaz and St Blaize primary schools in Mossel Bay, guiding them on how to help their children to improve their reading and understanding. These schools are part of a list of 10 schools the ATKV Langsous branch will be assisting this year. Du Plessis says that for the ATKV, 2025 is the "year of the parent": helping parents to help their children.
