For the nervous contestants, some of them performing in this type of venue, complete with proper stage lighting and sound for the first time, it sadly meant the end of the road.
Five items were selected per category, being dance, vocal and the open category, which includes instrumental music, drama and rap.
The finalists taking part in the showcase on National Youth Day are: dance category - dance groups Snipers, Eye Candy, Killer Beans and soloists Danielle Engelbrecht and Swaggy.
In the open category, rap group Beat Killaz, rap duo Mental Code and BMWK, as well as solo rap artists Lincoln and PS made it to the final. In the vocal category, sisters Peppie and Lucrezia Goeda will be battling it out, alongside sensational duo Thulani and Farial; and male soloists Mordegai and Alexander.
As usual, the 'wild card', a last an final act, is added to the line-up, chosen by an assistant judge at the semi-final. This year, the wild card went to dance duo, Stupid Retarded.
The finals will take place on Monday 16 June, starting at 13:00 in the Mossel Bay Town Hall. Entrance is free.
The winners in the three categories are in line to win their share of R30 000, sponsored by PetroSA.
