MOSSEL BAY NEWS - With daily activities on both Hartenbos and Diaz Beaches, it's already a scorcher for Mossel Bay's summer programme of beach entertainment.
"Our accommodation's full to overflowing, it's holiday season for sure - and it's wonderful to see everyone out in the sun and enjoying themselves," said Mossel Bay Tourism's Marcia Holm.
Mornay Beukes, resort manager at the ATKV-Hartenbos said that the Resort is offering a full programme of artists, music, games, and competitions from the stage on Hartenbos's Blue Flag beach = with programmes running daily from 09:00 to 14:00 until the 10th of January.
The Resort will also offer a number of concerts featuring Bok van Blerk, Elvis Blue, Karlien van Jaarsveld, and others, as well as a Carols by Candlelight evening, a potjiekos competition, and a traditional annual touch rugby competition during the holidays.
Organiser of the Dias Beach Summer Sun Festival, Mimi Finestone, said that the Diaz Strand Hotel's popular entertainment programme has returned stronger than ever this year.
Competitions include the Diaz Longboard Classic and Mej Sandkorreltjie on 19 December; Mr Diaz Junior on the 20th; Miss Diaz Junior on the 21st; the semifinals of Miss Diaz on the 22nd; Miss Lizzy Teen Bikini on the 23rd; Miss Roxy Bikini on the 30th; Mr Hunk Land Rover on the 31st; and Miss Billabong Bikini on 2 January.
"The big news is that Mossel Bay will host the final events of The All Gold Hot Summer Of Touch 2014 at Diaz Beach on the 29th, and at Hartenbos on 31 December," said Ms Finestone.
She said that the Rob Louw Invitational - with a team of professional Springbok rugby players - will also return to Diaz Beach on the 29th.
"The best thing about the Hot Summer of Touch is the fact that everybody can participate. Families, friends, neighbours and colleagues are invited to put teams together - and there's a Pro Series, too, with eight of the country's top teams battling it out for the title of 'All Gold National Beach Touch Champions'."
Ms Finestone said that the Diaz Beach Hotel's programme will also include a number of shows at the Pero Diaz Theatre: Dozi and Wouter van de Venter on 20 December; Michael Lindt and Wouter van de Venter on the 23rd; Ray Dylan on the 27th; Michael Lindt and Eden Showcase on the 29th; Lance James, Barbara Ray, and Clive Bruce on the 30th; and Wynand Windpomp on the 2nd and, Ray Dylan and Pieter Mohr on 3 January.
"And it's going to be a New Year like no other: Mossel Bay will never be the same again because the notoriously popular Afrikaans rapper, Jack Parow, will be the star of the Diaz Strand Hotel's epic New Year's Eve Rooftop Bash," she said.
