MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A group of 12 women - some qualified chefs, some caterers and others devout foodies - made sure at their recent Christmas in July event that they were noticed.
The MossKos "girls" last year decided to host this event and donated the proceeds to a charitable cause. With the kitchen obviously being among their favourite places, it was decided the funds would be donated towards work needed at the ACVV Seebries kitchen.
The four-course meal served on 29 July at the gorgeous Trinity Gate in Sinksabrug, which was offered for the event, was indeed a gastronomical delight to write home about.
About 200 guests relished the outstanding food, presented in style. Thanks go to sponsors Gondwana private game reserve and Fancy Functions.
Entertainment was provided by multi-talented musician Marcus Pratz on saxophone and guitar, setting the mood, and journalist Cornelle Carstens added additional pizzazz with her brand new comedy cabaret, The Adventures of Koek 007.
The showstopper at the event, however, was the magical melting chocolate dome with raspberry coulis decorated with coral tuile, crispy crêpe crumbs and a strawberry raindrop. This dessert was specially designed and crafted to be served at the event by one of MossKos's seasoned members.
