MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Arts Society is hosting a concert by Laura Pauna, the acclaimed South African / Romanian pianist, on Thursday, 11 April, in the Bartolomeu Dias Museum.
This will be the society’s third concert for 2024.
Sonatas
The concert, Virtuosic Beethoven Sonatas, includes Appassionata and Les Adieux by Ludwig van Beethoven, as well as other well-known works.
Laura has a long-standing reputation as an accomplished pianist, having won several local and international prizes and bursaries. Most notable are first prizes in the Oslo-Grieg Piano four-hand and two-hand Piano competition.
Accolades
Her list of accolades includes the Mozartteum prize and first prize at the Ibla Piano Competition. Laura has toured extensively, with many performances at venues such as the Carnegie Hall, the Salzburg Grosse Saal, Musikverrein and other local and international concert venues.
She has released an album of contemporary South African piano works, titled Prismatica, curated by Vektor Productions as well as the album Korana.
She currently resides in Johannesburg.
Join society
The Arts Society encourages music lovers to join the society and attend concerts. You will have the chance to join at the Laura Pauna concert at a fee of R150 per year. Members of the society attend concerts at a discounted ticket price.
