KICKBOXING NEWS AND GALLERY - The inaugural Kickboxing Organisation of South Africa (Kosa) SA Championships took place at the George Civic Centre on Saturday and Sunday, 6 and 7 July.
150 athletes from across the country, including Cape Town and Gauteng, joined local participants, competing in six formats.
The fights took place on tatami floors and in the ring, totalling 142 divisions in the championships this year.
"We were privileged to have the mayor of George, Jackie von Brandis, officially welcoming all our guests to George as well as the president of Masa, Louise Viviers, and deputy president Tjolla Louw, who officially declared the championships open," said organiser Sors Grobbelaar.
Kosa also plans to participate in an international tournament within the next year, which will give athletes international exposure.
