MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Five students at Tiger Kai martial arts school gave their best at the junior black belt grading this month.
For students in mixed martial arts, this is considered a make or break grading. During this grading, hours upon hours of training come to fruition.
After years of commitment, perseverance and determination, these students have achieved success. The grading includes a rigorous schedule of serious fitness tests as a warm-up. Then follow the techniques and fighting, ending off with intense groundwork.
"The heat, the intensity, the discipline, the fitness and all the technical aspects play a definitive role in the final results.
"It takes years of learning, sweat, hard work and introspection to become the perfect black belt student," says sensei Marulin Goodger from Tiger Kai.
"Being a black belt is an attitude, a state of mind and a way of life."
