Tiger Kai/TUFF Academy is the first gym in the Garden Route to effectively convert from ring contact to MMA fighting in a cage. The 12 fights were tightly contested. Youngsters impressed with the passion and dedication in which they approached the fights and the sportsmanship they displayed before and after the fights.
The event was also used to raise awareness for the SPCA's battle against illegal Pittbul dog fighting. It was alarming to hear from SPCA representative Anja Roesorff that Mossel Bay is regarded as the capital of dog fighting in the Western Cape. Two Pitbull dogs accompanied the SPCA to the event and impressed everyone with their docile and friendly demeanour.
Some of the evening's proceeds will be used to assist the SPCA in their fight against illegal dog fighting.
