The aim of this event is to raise funds in support of various community projects. The community can participate as follows:
- Entering a 2-Balll at R495 per person (including shared golf cart)
- Sponsoring a Hole at R1 000
- Sponsoring a Hole and enter 2x 2-Ball at R2 900
- Sponsorship of prizes of your choice
- Sponsoring of promotional items to be used as gifts for players
The Education and Training Hub for Autism Needs (ETHAN) is a non-profit company with the mission of educating and empowering parents, caregivers and individuals affected by autism spectrum disorders (autism). Autism now affects one in 68 children and one in 42 boys.
The project is spearheaded by parents and grandparents who have dealt first hand with the challenges associated with having a child with an autism spectrum disorder.
Ons Huis was started in 1971 and Onse Rus in May 1979, both mainly sponsored by the Rotary Club. Today, Ons Huis has 47 residents and Onse Rus 33.
The residents are provided with three balanced meals per day, 24-hour nursing care and their laundry are done daily. The occupants are visited and assisted by various volunteers.
Carol Walton started rehabilitating sea birds in her garage in 2003. This eventually led to the establishment of SAPREC in 2005, a non-profit seabird rehabilitation centre based in Mossel Bay.
SAPREC aims to conserve and protect South African and Antarctic sea birds, especially threatened species, for the benefit of present and future generations.
