GREAT BRAK RIVER NEWS - Three skips filled with palm fronds, garden materials and branches were removed from the Station Garden in Great Brak River by several Great Brak River Conservancy members over the weekend.

The project, organised by conservancy member Michelle Heyes, began on Friday 21 August, after the Mossel Bay Municipality had dropped off a skip at the garden for the volunteers to fill.

Heyes said they had filled the skip within a few hours on Friday, and the municipality removed it and brought back a second skip.

After the second skip was filled and removed, a third was brought on Saturday. The volunteers worked on Saturday and Sunday to fill it up.

Heyes said the volunteers completed a massive amount of clearing in the gardens, including overhanging branches and branches blocking pathways. 

She said the conservancy was extremely grateful for the municipality help by lending, dropping off and collecting the skips for the project.
