MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay’s Indwe Secondary School’s soccer team missed out on a place in the King’s Cup Tournament final after losing to Jonga High School at the Imizamo Yethu Sport Facility in George on Saturday 10 October.
The match got off to an exciting start, with both sides pushing for the opening goal. Jonga High struck first when centre-half Achumile Njili found the back of the net to give his team a 1-0 lead.
Indwe Secondary fought to get back into the game, but struggled to break through Jonga High’s stubborn defence.
In the second half, the Jonga High’s players remained focused on protecting their lead while looking for opportunities to push forward into the penalty area. However, neither team managed to score again.
Njili’s goal ultimately proved decisive, securing Jonga High’s place in the tournament semi-finals.

Whayn Windwaai, the tournament’s organiser, said he believed the event provided an excellent platform for young soccer players to meet and get to know one another. “It may look very small, but I am very confident and looking forward to welcoming other schools into the tournament,” he said.
