MOSSEL BAY NEWS -The dassies (rock hyrax) at the Cape St Blaize cave at Mossel Bay Point may seem cute and look hungry when they approach you, begging for food, but please do not feed them.
Feeding wild animals - despite your best intentions - could do more harm than good.
Artificial feeding causes animals to associate humans with easily available food. Animals can become aggressive and bite people as they become accustomed to being fed, as opposed to foraging for food naturally.
