MOSSEL BAY NEWS - In an effort to promote conservation efforts and the work of conservation entities in and around Mossel Bay, an awareness drive will be held on Saturday, 26 April, by the directors of the Mossel Bay Conservancy Forum Non-Profit Company (NPC) at the Mossel Bay Town Hall.
The event, open to all members of the public to visit, will begin at 09:00 and end at 13:00.
Various organisations and conservancies from in and around Mossel Bay will be represented and have displays. Representatives will be ready to answer any questions the public may have.
The conservancies of Dana Bay, Great Brak River, Mid Brak and Fransmanshoek will be represented.
Other entities expected are the Gourikwa Reserve, Garden Route Birds of Prey Rehabilitation Centre, Gouritz Cluster Biosphere Reserve, Biosphere Enviro Solutions, the Stranded Marine Animal Rescue Team (S.M.A.R.T.), the Seabird and Penguin Rehabilitation Centre (SAPREC), the Wildlife Crime Information Network (WCIN), Mossel Bay Fire, Rescue and Disaster Management Services, the municipality's Waste Department, and the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment.
Members of the public are invited to bring family and friends to come and learn all about conservation and the importance of protecting our environment.
There will be food for sale.
