MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Visual Arts Month started on 24 August and continues until 24 September.
There are and will be a number of exhibitions in the greater Mossel Bay area during Arts Month.
The first Arts Month took place last year.
Wrapped lampposts
This year, look out for wrapped lampposts, indicating exhibition venues and for flyers and posters advertising various exhibitions and events at restaurants and halls.
There are also guided art walks during Arts Month. There is currently an exhibition of paintings and glass art at The Town's House until 7 September.
Another key event is the Synergy exhibition, with about 25 artists' works, taking place at the NG Moedergemeente (Klipkerk) Church in Church Street in the town centre from 4 to 7 September.
Artists and helpers
During the past week a group of artists and helpers wrapped lampposts with material, with permission from the municipality, in the area near the tidal pool and near the ice cream stall at The Point, Mossel Bay.
Workshops
This is where artists will be able to join other artists in plein air workshops over the next month. Plein air art is done in the open, outside.
These workshops will be organised by local artist Reni Seabourne (063 617 5533).
