MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Just when one wants to succumb to the thought of times being far too dark, a little light shines through to brighten the day.
On Friday, 20 July, local rapper Robert Smallz, or Andile Citashe, celebrated his birthday in a very special way. Instead of having a party, focused on himself, he hosted his first charity drive for the needy.
Citashe held the event at Hillcrest Secondary School to coincide with this birthday. The function started after school at 13:30 and continued until 18:00. Citashe is a former winner of Mossel Bay's Got Talent, the driving power behind Sebenza Entertainment, which featured at the Soul Festival earlier this month.
The "entry fee" for the event was an item of non-perishable foodstuff or other necessary household items.
"This is the first of many. I have identified needy households in the informal settlements who will benefit from these donations."

Members of the audience participated in the programme keenly.
The youngsters had a lot of fun.
