MOSSEL BAY NEWS - PetroSA confirms that there is ground contamination due to the leak from one of its Offshore pipelines in the vicinity of Nautilus Bay near Mossel Bay.
Spokesperson Thandi Nameka says the site where the condensate leaked has been barricaded in preparation for the repairs. The condensate supply into the line has been closed.
Condensate is hydrocarbon liquid produce from offshore wells that becomes feed stream to produce different fuels
She says management teams are busy with an assessment and could not confirm how much condensate had leaked.
PetroSA is planning a cleanup process which will entail the removal of contaminated soil.
