ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - Each year Forbes releases its list of highest paid celebrities and it’s astounding to see the million-dollar figures that these popular people are earning. But no-one is laughing all the way to the bank harder than the comedians who topped the highest earning list for 2017.

In order to create the list, Forbes evaluates tour numbers, TV and film projects, business ventures and endorsement deals.

Many of the funny people on this year’s list have Netflix to thank for a large part of their pay cheques. Three of the top four comedians on the list managed to secure one or more $20 million (R270 million) deals with the video streaming giant.

Of course, not all comedians can expect such massive deals. Take newcomer to the list, Sebastian Maniscalco, pictured above, as an example. He finds himself in 10th position having earned $15 million between June 2016 and June 2017 by performing at over 100 gigs.
