BUSINESS NEWS - Behind Vitalvet’s excellent service is a smoothly operating team with endless compassion, care and dedication to the needs of every pet and pet owner they encounter.
From the receptionists to the veterinarians, here are the team members behind the exceptional pet care the Mossel Bay community has continued to trust.
Georgie Strydom
A veterinary receptionist and sales support clerk at Vitalvet’s Mossel Bay branch, Georgie Strydom is one of the first people pet owners will encounter when visiting Vitalvet. She has always had a deep passion for animals, and knew a career in which she could be directly involved in their well-being would be an excellent fit.
“The opportunity to work closely with animals while also collaborating with experienced veterinary professionals has made this path especially meaningful to me,” she says.
Georgie’s dedication to each pet and pet owner has allowed her to fully pay attention to each animal’s unique needs. The positive impact she and her colleagues have had on the well-being of every client who has walked through Vitalvet’s doors continues to be one of the most rewarding aspects of her work.
Whether it’s assisting a worried pet owner, contributing to a smooth treatment process, or seeing an animal recover and thrive, those moments are incredibly fulfilling. Building trust with clients and knowing she has played a part in their pet’s well-being is a highlight of her role.
Georgie’s main roles at Vitalvet include managing client interactions, co-ordinating appointments, assisting with product and service inquiries, ordering stock and ensuring that the day-to-day operations run smoothly.

Annelie Botes
A love of both animals and people has allowed Annelie Botes to work in a field she feels most passionate about.
As a veterinary receptionist at Vitalvet Mossel Bay, Annelie takes great pride in welcoming clients and their pets, expertly managing appointments, answering calls and ensuring that all patient records are accurate and up to date, as well as supporting both the veterinary team and pet owners.
For Annelie, one moment that has stayed with her was witnessing a C-section performed on a Rottweiler.
“Even though I wasn’t directly involved, just being able to see that tiny life being brought into the world was incredibly special. It reminded me how meaningful this work is and how much care goes into every single life that comes through our doors. I also value the relationships I build with the pets and clients,” she says.
Vitalvet’s compassion, patience and dedication is the beating heart behind everything Annelie and the other veterinary receptionists do. Their work does not start and end at treating animals, but also extends to supporting the owners who love them.

Nadia Schoonwinkel
For the past three years, veterinary receptionist Nadia Schoonwinkel has welcomed clients and their pets into Vitalvet’s Mossel Bay branch with a warm smile. Aiming to create a calming environment, Nadia has achieved this goal on a daily basis thanks to her hard work, as well the hard work and support of her colleagues.
“Being part of a team that cares and loves animals during both happy and difficult times is something that truly motivates me,” she says.
Vitalvet stands out because of its dedicated team that continues to go the extra mile to ensure only the best care is delivered for the community they serve, including the dogs of the Mossel Bay Municipality’s K9 unit.
The Vitalvet team treats every animal that comes through their doors as if they were one of their own pets, and takes time to get to know each client’s personality and needs. “I believe to always stay calm and read their behaviour to help create a less stressful experience for both animals and the owner,” says Nadia.

Sr Ilse Wyatt-Goodall
As the only nurse working at Vitalvet’s Mossel Bay branch, Sr Ilse Wyatt-Goodall goes above and beyond to ensure the theatre operates smoothly. Her tasks include taking charge of drug stock control, administering vaccinations for both cats and dogs, assisting the veterinarian every day and even making sure your loyal companion receives a gentle pedicure.
From a very young age, Sr Ilse has had a deep connection to animals. Helping to relieve their pain and suffering has always been her true calling.
A highlight of her work has been helping dogs and cats with their dental hygiene. She takes great pleasure in putting a beaming smile back onto their faces, as well as the faces of their owners.
Vitalvet is the best pet care option for animals and pet owners, partly due to Sr Ilse’s dedication to learning the names of each client who walks through their doors, and making sure to learn the names of their pets as well. Showing kindness and making each client feel welcome and at ease are her top priority.

Dr Rozelle Theron
As a veterinarian, Dr Rozelle Theron’s major role is ensuring well-being, treatment and quality care for the animals she works with.
Becoming a vet has always been the only option for her, a passion she has carried with her since childhood. “Since I was very young, all I wanted to be was a vet - even a konynboer at one stage,” she says.
Every aspect of her career, both the ups and the downs, continues to inspire her on a daily basis. Getting to work with such a dedicated team at Vitalvet who has assisted her throughout every surgical procedure and diagnostics has been the most rewarding part of her work.
“Having happy clients is very important to me, and I feel as a team we are reaching that goal,” she says.
