My heart is full of gratitude as I express my deepest thanks to the incredible team of doctors, midwives and nurses at the Mossel Bay Provincial Hospital's maternity ward who assisted with the delivery of my baby boy.
When I arrived at the ward, my hope and plan was to give birth naturally. However, when last-minute complications arose due to the unexpected size and weight of my baby, a healthy 4.5kg, the team immediately swung into action with incredible speed, professionalism and care.
In a moment that could have been filled with panic and fear, the staff remained calm, kept me informed and reassured me throughout. The decisive actions they took ensured that what could have been a dangerous situation became a safe and successful delivery. Thanks to their expertise and swift intervention, my big baby boy arrived safely into the world, and we are both healthy and strong.
I would also like to thank the staff for their warmth, tireless dedication and exceptional medical care, as well as for the valuable knowledge they shared with every mother-to-be about the importance of breastfeeding.
My appreciation extends to everyone who played a role in our care, including the cleaners and catering staff. Each person contributed to making our experience a positive one.
