EDEN DISTRICT NEWS - Four athletes from Eden Modern Pentathlon took part in the Tetrathlon league event in Boland last Saturday.
They did exceptionally well and excelled in the fencing discipline.
The competition was held on a round robin basis, which meant each competitor had to face all the other competitors once. Each match lasted up to one minute, with the first fencer to score a hit winning instantly. Double hits were not counted. If neither competitor scores within one minute they both lose the match.
Tetrathlon is the last step before full Modern Pentathlon. It comprises four of the five disciplines of Modern Pentathlon: swimming, running, shooting and fencing. All four events take place on the same day.
Mossel Bay Modern Pentathlon Club will host another league event for Biathle at Santos Beach on Sunday. Registration is at 14:30.
The first event will start at 15:00. Please contact Johan Windt on 083 461 5096 or e-mail edenmpa.chairman@gmail.com for more information.
